Why do I care so much about your Dental Health?

I am 35,000 feet up in the air wedged in between two strangers flying back home after delivering a motivational and educational lecture to a large group of dentists and their staff in Philadelphia. The main theme of my 7 hour seminar was how to keep our patients healthy. I find myself convinced that any patient who desires to keep their teeth for a lifetime should be given every opportunity to do so.

I was raised in a medical family. My father was a physician and my mother was a nurse. I guess caring for others is “in my blood”. I guess I was born to care—corny as that may sound.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not a salesman who is going to tell you that you deserve to have healthy teeth and a beautiful smile. But, I am a health care professional who does provide all of my patients the opportunity to stay healthy and keep your teeth and your smile beautiful for a lifetime.

It takes time, effort and yes, financial investment, to make it to your retirement years with a great set of teeth. But wouldn’t you rather be the one at the retirement home enjoying your food, able to chew it, than the one with no teeth or poorly fitting dentures gumming their dinner?

That’s why I care—I want you to make it to the finish line enjoying your meals and smiling confidently for the rest of your life.

Pete Vanstrom, DDS
